The much awaited Sports days(2days) made a gala begining today.....Action started rite At 7 in the morning when 1500 Mts Racec would "lift off" , the rest of the proceedings!
Well long distance running is my first love...when it comes to athletics!, I always used to miss that when in CVR.
Time had come to prove...but not an inch of practice....infact getting up at 7 itself was a huge thing....which dint happen even today!
My house captain....Had bangged straight into my room! And woke me up!
Went to the ground in the most awkward position....looking at me....most people should have "written me Off" , Not until results proved to be other wise...
I Had taken the lead initially, which is not very conventional in long distance racing...but i knew i wouldnt have enuf energy to give a burst at the end.!
I was determined to Complete the race!
I did it....and secured Bronze too!
AfterMaths!! "Vomitings" Unbelievable....but for the first time in my life...i experienced vomitings in a play field!
At 2 O'clock i get a call....."we need u rite here"
i was puzzled....ther wasn't any event in which i was going to participate...then how come ??
I rushed in.....it was 100 Mts relay. & my team badly required a sprinter....they found that in me :P Another medal....this time a Silver.
4 in the afternoon, went to the Jumping pit.....looking at it... i think i can make it!
I was learning to make a jump!
Event was Tripple jump!
i remembered remotely that i had participated in that event about...8 yrs ago!
Rules also came as a surprise to me!
First jump has to b the best jump i thought, went straight into 2nd place with my first jump....in the first round..but the lead that the guy in 1st position was Amazing....my jump was 9.97 Mts, while his was 10.16 Mts..
Nothing very special happend in the second round...but in the final Round another guy who was in 3rd place surpassed me... Not by much but was enuf to snatch Silver from me...
I had my 1 last chance to prove....I made the best jump of my life! hmmm...yeah really!
10.14 Mts...only 2 cm away from the winner!
May b i could hav actually done better!
But, neverthless, that silver is worth a gold! [:D]
3 Medals on the first day.
Now, no one writes me off!
They realize...this 1 is nt a conventional PG guy they r used to seeing...
